 L ocated near Disneyland in Orange, California, Dromo 1 brings the thrill of real racing to the public with our challenging 1000ft-long track with plenty of opportunity to pass. Our gas powered, made in the USA, Stratos karts are powered by a custom-built, 9hp, Honda engine which has been clocked at speeds in excess of 40 MPH on the Dromo 1 course. Combined, the two produce The Real Racing Experience. No other indoor karting center can offer the experience that Dromo 1 does.
You don't need any special qualifications to get the experience - just be five feet tall and ready to race. (We have special programs for younger karters, too). Upon paying for a race, racers will go through a 10-minute briefing, before being suited up in racing apparel and Arai helmets.
The first six laps of your on-track session are a timed qualifying session. The concept is simple: it is YOU against the clock. The situation, however, is complex, with the prospect of slower traffic that you always seem to catch at the worst moment…
After qualifying, the racers will be gridded for a Formula 1 style standing start, with the order based on your best laptimes from the qualifying session. After that, click your visor down, and wait for the lights to go green - get ready for an additional 3-or-4-mile race! We can't tell you what to do next, but chances are you'll figure it out quickly…
